We talk to children about team spirit, but knowingly or unknowingly, we also make them competitive in some toxic ways. However, I am happy that my school children are likely to grow up to become sensitive human beings instead of becoming mechanical robots with the sole aim of  becoming ‘successful’ in life.

If this story was portrayed in the cinema, it would have been applauded, but this is a story from real life, pure love and cooperation without any melodrama and narrating it which makes me smile and get emotional.

As the annual examinations were underway in the month of March, the children of class seventh had science examination on that day. The examination’s duration was not over yet, but Aditya of class eighth had completed his paper and kept the answer sheet on the desk and opened the science book and if he was not copying, just checking his answers as soon as the paper was over.

Let me tell you that Aditya was a very bright, straight forward and simple child who topped the block in science examination a year prior.

Seeing Aditya open the book, another student Akash ideated a mischief.  He took a picture with Aditya’s book and began harrassing him saying that he would circulate his photograph in the district and float around the rumour that he was cheating following which the police will take Aditya to jail.

Aditya panicked and began explaining his situation to him but Akash was adamant and showed no signs of mercy. Each and every student in the class was astonished to see the unfair situation in which Aditya was stuck and what happened next astonished every teacher in the school.

One after the other, the children in the classroom got up and brought their books and opened it. They requested Akash to take their picture with the books and send them to jail. Such was the unified resolve of the children in my school who had learned to walk together instead of moving forward and leave their friends behind. These children may or may not become significant personalities but they are already on the path of becoming good human beings.
